When the Wheels Can't Deliver the Meals
Posted on: January 18, 2016 by Neal Miller
Meals on Wheels helps isolated community members who are unable to shop for their own food, or to cook, maintain their independence by delivering nutritious, delicious and affordable meals.
When the winter weather turns treacherous and Meals on Wheels can’t deliver we want to make sure that the most vulnerable in our community have meals at home to eat .
Battell Denture Clinic along with VON Canada’s Meals on Wheels program needs your help! We are collecting ready to eat foods that will be donated to create “Stormy Day” care packages for those most at risk.
These packages may consist of:
- Soup with easy to open packaging
- Crackers
- Fruit Cups
- Pudding
- Tetra packs of milk or juice
- Non-perishable complete meals located in the soup aisle at the grocery store
When you visit Battell Denture Clinic between November 18 and March 1 we will gladly accept your kind donation and deliver it to our friends at Meals on Wheels so that the most vulnerable in our community will have a healthy meal on a stormy day.
